I have photographed quite a number of bumps, and what I love about each and every one of them is that they are all so different!
Today photographing M and M’s bump I realised how cute this little one was! I mean M is 36 weeks, and looks *amazing*!!! It was a great way to kick off the week, and I am really excited to meet their new bundle in a very few, short weeks! All the best guys, see you soon!

I wonder if any of you have seen me lately and not been up to say hello? The town of Bundaberg has been buzzing with a few things going on that I (and my family too!) have been part of. It started with our local show, this is something that we look forward to every year. A dagwood dog (to make you feel so sick!); show bags and fireworks. This year I entered the local photography section as I always do, and gained a 2nd in the “colour portrait” section. My girls also went ahead and entered the competition for the first time. They did very well with some highly commended and a 2nd for G. Here are a few shots:

I also had the opportunity to “woman” 2 stalls lately. The first being at our “Wedding and Formal Expo” in May, and the other at a wonderful evening held at the Bundaberg CitiCoast Church, it was called “Glamour” and was basically a night of fun, pamper and cake
for women. It was so beautiful to see, and great to be part of! Be sure to try and go along next year ladies!! Here is my stall from the Expo:

Sorry for the delay – I had a lovely morning giggling my way through a viewing with a beautiful client and before we knew it, lunch time was upon us! What a great way to spend a Friday morning though! Thanks for the lovely time L!! Like I said yesterday the entries I got were so touching, and very beautiful. I wanted to share a few bits and pieces from the emails:
“I think its about time she got something for herself”
“my kids and my husband are my everything but I have to admit that for just an hour or so it would be nice if I was my everything”
“She brings love and joy to all around her and is constantly giving of herself to anyone in need”
“She is very loved especially by me!!!”
” I thought I would nominate her for this competition so that she knows I love her, I think she’s amazing and I think of her often even though we don’t catch up as much anymore”
“a beautiful, nuturing, gentle friend of mine.”
“for the wonderful way she supports us”
The winner is going to be one special Mum who actually received 2 entries. One from a friend, and one from her husband! He let me know that his wife is pregnant with their 3rd child and really does all that she can no matter what to look after her friends and family, above herself. So to “N” please look in your inbox for an email about your special photo shoot, and I look forward to seeing you in the near future!
I am very sad that the other amazing woman didn’t get a chance for a photo shoot, but I am sure once they hear how much those around them love and care for them they will feel loved! Thanks again for the entries and your on-going support!

From my last post you may all understand why I have decided to give a gift to a very deserving Mum out there. Do you know a Mum that is a beautiful soul, and would love the chance to have a photo shoot? Do you know a Mum that works hard all the time (don’t we all!!) and deserves something fun and exciting to do?
This shoot could be one that you get to give to another woman out there that you admire, respect and love!
I am offering the following to one Mum/family:
1 complimentary photo session (1 hour)
1 complimentary 16×20 mounted image
TOTAL VALUE = $260
So, there are conditions right?
Yes there are, there always is. The photo shoot must be done during the month of June, 2009. The Mum must be nominated by someone – either a family member, friend or herself! The image for the mount is to be chosen by the Mum, with other prints available for purchase if she so wishes. The recipient is at the judges (Susan Wall’s) discretion, and her word is final. The photo shoot can be one for Mum only or one that she gets her family to be part of also.
How to nominate the amazing woman that you know?
Please leave a comment here, on the blog – letting me know you have visited. Then send an email in 100 words or less telling me about this special woman. Email to susan@susanwall.com.au
A Mothers’ Day surprise will be announced via email and on the blog to one lovely lady!! Entries close 1 May 2009
To finish off here are some beautiful Mums I have photographed over the past year or so (and one of my lovely girls and I too!):

I have declared this to be “education week” my friends. Through out this coming week I would like to share some of the reasons why I do what I do. I will cover the following and more:
“But a 5×7 only cost $1 why do you charge $xx?”
“If I had a good camera I could take those photographs too”
“Why wall art, what is it?”
“Why should I pay more for a photographer, I can get it much cheaper down the road”
“You only have to own a camera and you are a successful photographer”
Why am I doing this I hear you all ask? I am doing this as I come across these questions from time to time and I have been wanting to educate you and potential clients about what is involved. Almost like an insight into the business of being a photographer. I don’t want to say *ever* that I have all the answers, I definitely have had to learn through some bad decisions!
I will kick this off tomorrow for you all, and hope that you come in daily to give me your feedback and opinions (and yep, each day I’ll share a new image!).
Happy weekend

I have returned from my 2 day workshop, and I have to say that I am all of the following at once:
*excited
*happy
*inspired
*exhausted
*positive
*exhausted
*overwhelmed
and
*EXHAUSTED*
I am exhausted, but you know that wonderful exhaustion that is so worth it? This is how I feel! I am busy reflecting on all that I heard and all that I have learnt. I have a lot of changes coming this way, please keep an eye on this blog and the website
The TTD offer is still open, and thanks to the 6 couples who have registered their interest! I am very excited and positive about the response. What if you miss out? Well, you can always book a TTD session with me. Now, wouldn’t that make a great anniversary present to you both?
I have had a few requests to show more of my 366 days of images, so here is one that I really liked myself:

To see the devastation caused by the bush fires truly is heart wrenching. To witness so many people can loose their lives, loved ones, pets, belongings and also their faith in man kind. To know that some people may be responsible for such a tragedy really makes you feel heavy hearted. It is not right, not fair.
I have decided to follow the amazingly brilliant and kind offer by Kris Leigh (a few photographers are on board, so see who is near you). I am going to ask that my clients during the months of February and March donate their booking fee to the Australian Red Cross*. What you need to do is donate your $100 fee via the Secure Online Form and email me the electronic receipt and we can book your session in. This is a way that we can together help others and also have a beautiful session together.
Thanks in advance for the support.
Trash the Dress – Free session offer!
Something that I have wanted to do for some time is a “Trash the Dress” session. This can be hard to offer to clients as here in Bundaberg it is almost unheard of. What am I talking about I hear you say? Have a look at my all time favourite video online here: http://www.stillmotionblog.com/?p=139
I am looking for a couple that have recently been married (or maybe are engaged, or just in love!) and are happy to be my models for this shoot. It will be most likely held in March (whilst still warm) on a weekend, later in the afternoon for that lovely warm light. In return for their clothing and time they will receive a free booking fee and a 8*12 print (valued at $125). The bride will need to either wear her own gown or mine (sized 6/8). It will be great fun that’s guaranteed
I am looking for an adventurous couple that are happy to do what I am envisioning.
Interested? Please email me at susan@susanwall.com.au Due to the needs of this shoot I will be asking for several couples to come and meet me and then I shall choose a couple that are most suitable. Please email me any questions you may have.
Take care blog readers, remember how fortunate we are to be where we are. Safe, loved and smiling.

*Does not include wedding bookings.

Today was the wedding of H and J. It was a very wet and miserable day – such a shame as their original beach location was dreamy! But all in all we were so excited when the rain broke just long enough for a few shots outdoors. It was such an honour to photograph H’s wedding. She has known me since I was a brand new baby (her Mum and my Mum being best of friends for many years!). H and J wishing you all the happiness, enjoy your sneak peak and chat soon x
{Are you planning a wedding? Or have you been married recently? Keep an eye on this space, in the coming days I have a fun, exciting and adventurous offer!! – sounds interesting doesn’t it? Be sure to come back soon!}

Happy New Year to all my friends, family and blog followers
I am really looking forward to 2009 and seeing a lot of you more I hope
I am not a huge believer in a New Year is a new start, as I feel that any given day we can make a positive change and start fresh….But, in saying that I do see it is a way of a new/fresh start to my business. Susan Wall Photography has been going really strong through 2008 and has had much success. I have appreciated and loved photographing a lot of local families, bellies and babies! One area that I would like to venture into is birth photography. Our local town can have trouble at times coming to terms with new ventures, I know my maternity shoots aren’t as popular as I am going to have them be. A lot of people can see this time in a couples lives to be one of a private affair. Though this maybe true for some, it certainly is something to be celebrated and remembered. The same can be said about the miracle of birth.
I am wanting to offer a free birth shoot to one local family. I ask that you sign a model release in return to help advertise my future plans with this style of photography. Of course all images will be very tastefully done, with your privacy and feelings being priority.
Are you interested? Please email me at susan@susanwall.com.au for more information and to chat further about the possibility.
May 2009 see you all be safe, healthy, happy and laughing.
Suse x
