December, 2009 Archives

Sunday was raining, and very overcast. It was also the Christening of S, who was *adorable* and loved his special teddy that was a gift to him from the Parish. Unfortunately we couldn’t do our planned family shoot due to the rain, but it meant that we had an awesome time yesterday together (and out of the rain!). And let me tell you for little people A and S were amazing, so well behaved and into the shoot, it was a total pleasure!
Wishing everyone a very happy new years, and please be safe. May 2010 be full of laughs, memories and adventures! Looking forward to a few adventures myself! Stay tuned….

Wow 2009, you have been a crazy, awesome year! The ups and downs have been full on yet also enjoyable. I have had some stand out moments this year:

Attending a great workshop in Kingaroy and meeting some great photographers who have become friends.
Going to the Gold Coast workshop and seeing my work projected to WAY too many photographers that I stalk!
Rob Heyman, the amazing man himself coming to Bundaberg and mentoring me for a week. That week was changing in so many ways! And a time in my life
that I shall always treasure and appreciate.
My first birth session – can’t believe M is 1 soon!
One of my closest friends V Day wedding.
A great fashion shoot involving my best friend and photographer – Stephen, and one amazing model – Ryley!
Meeting all my clients, sharing memories and moments with them. Being able to give them images that will be with their family history is a buzz!

2010 now is just around the corner, so with that I am going to take a little time to do my best to slow down. January I shall only be holding weekend shoots, with some already booked out. Over the Christmas-New Year period the phone might go to message bank, and emails take a bit longer to answer. Please be patient and enjoy the slower pace this time of year.

Many thanks for the support from my family, friends, clients and fellow photographers. You know who you are and you know you rock!! Happy New Year…don’t have any resolutions – just see what happens and enjoy the journey :)

Saturday saw a nice, stinkin’ hot day. Perfect for an Island wedding don’t you think? I had the utmost pleasure of 2nd shooting this wedding with Bambi from Gympie. It was so much fun and fantastic to see her at work – she is a very talented photographer!

Ok, back to this Island wedding! L and O were just plain adorable – seeing them together was breathtaking. Their families both were so connected and all got into the wedding by sharing laughs, emotions and dances!!!

Frazer Island is an amazing location and one that I can’t wait to go back to (thinking of my March wedding here!). O and L, thanks for allowing me to come along and again thanks to Bambi! xx

And just when I thought there was not a part of me that was clucky….along came Mr C. My word, I couldn’t stop with the whole “he is so cute, he is so tiny”….I must have been so annoying in my own little moment while photographing this beautiful baby boy! He was a champion – just sleeping through every pose. Fun!

Today I got to meet this little guy, he was so little when in his Mum’s tummy recently, but must have been hiding well as he was a beautiful size born. “I” didn’t really want to sleep but eventually he realised it was all good and drifted off :) Aren’t little people just big miracles?

Last week although the rain was amazing and much needed it meant that I had to wait a bit longer to meet the totally cute and adorable C! He was a happy little guy, even though it was a hard time of day for someone his age. The light in the late afternoon is amazing, and worth trying to get to!
I hope you all enjoy seeing C and his family – he seriously is such a beautiful little guy!

On Friday night we got to go to Bargara Berries, who are now under new ownership. They have some exciting changes going on, and wow the function room is beautiful (I want that amazing wall paper for my next home!). We tried out the new menu and I listened to not a sound as we all ate our delicious meals! They have set menus for dinner allowing you to have a choice from some beautiful dishes whilst still knowing how much your dinner out will cost you (not too much either!).
I took some images while I was there for their new marketing, be sure to keep an eye out for them! Go and see the changes and my husband says you have to try the duck!!

Picture this: Me, my little Mazda3 *zoom zoom* get over taken by I can’t remember how many 4WD’s and out pile what seems like 100’s of children! It wasn’t quite that dramatic but I think the look on my face said “wow this is a huge crowd” LOL!
18 people we had all together, and my goodness was I laughing all afternoon! Large, crazy fun families – I love them!

I photographed T last year for her formal, with her family. It was so great to meet her back then. She contacted me recently wanting to do a special shoot with her friend T who had just celebrated a fantastic birthday milestone! Yippee for me! It was nice to shoot two close friends today. I know that my friends are like my rock, and they all need to be loved and appreciated. How much fun to do a shoot together. Great idea too!

Girls, thanks for a fun afternoon – it was great to giggle with you!
