October, 2009 Archives

Today is the last shoot of this week, this month and also before my much awaited for holiday!
It was a pleasure to meet both J and J – who has the most adorable and compact belly bump! I talk too much, and poor J and J got to experience that today. But it was so fantastic to sit with them and chat away while taking some pregnancy shots between stories. They are a beautiful couple and I really can’t wait to meet their baby in around 4 weeks (or earlier possibly!).

I am going to be away for the next 8 days, and though I can get to my emails while away I am likely to take a bit longer to answer anyone. I am contactable via mobile, but only at set times as I am not sure when out at sea how the whole thing works. I shall get back to you all asap though, and please know I will be sharing lots of images when home from our holiday!
Keep safe, to my Mums close to their due dates all take care and see you soon!

I have photographed quite a number of bumps, and what I love about each and every one of them is that they are all so different!

Today photographing M and M’s bump I realised how cute this little one was! I mean M is 36 weeks, and looks *amazing*!!! It was a great way to kick off the week, and I am really excited to meet their new bundle in a very few, short weeks! All the best guys, see you soon!

Just to keep you all up-to-date :)

* Are you getting married in 2010? I am taking bookings for 2010 and 2011 now – if you want to ensure your wedding is photographed by Susan Wall Photography please get in sooner rather then later. I have had some brides to be miss out already due to dates filling fast. Please contact me asap.

* Do you own a farm? Does it have old and run down shacks/sheds on it? If so I need your help! I am looking for new, unique locations and need your help. Please email me so we can discuss :)

* I am having a special birthday in a few days – no I won’t tell you what I am turning (I am still getting away with it while I can!). I am going to celebrate by giving you guys, my lovely clients, friends and followers a special offer. Guess my age and you can receive a gift from Susan Wall Photography. 2 prizes will be handed out. 1 to a new client, and one to a previous client. The new client shall get a discounted booking fee, the repeat client a reprint from their last session complimentary (my choice). Winners will be chose by names in a hat!

* Are you on my email list for offers and news? If not, please email me and you can be part of the fun susan@susanwall.com.au

I am so excited, lots of amazing things happening. Today I was shopping and was so happy to meet and see people that had heard of my work, or been past clients. I also received the most beautiful email from a past client today, a card yesterday (both made me tear up!). I love this job….even though I am working day and night 7 days a week ;)

This afternoon was such a pleasant afternoon, the wind from the past few days has finally died down. Just in time for a sweet, sweet family!

Although we had a few tears and trials overall we had a great time and I love this age group. I love how they tell you no, they do what they want to do and make the cutest little models!

N and A, thank you for sharing your afternoon with me, and for the rocky road (the girls seem to think it is theirs!!). Catch up soon!

And two very special people to this family:

Did you know that I was a volunteer breastfeeding counsellor for the past 5 years? It was something that I loved, and still miss!! The Bundaberg Group of the Australian Breastfeeding Association have asked me to return as a guest speaker. I am going to cover how to get better images of your children and babies – it is going to be a fun morning! Here are the details:

On Friday Oct 16, 9.30am We will have Susan to show us how to take beautiful baby photos so bring your cameras and dress up the children for a fun session!
We meet at the Bundaberg West Baptist Church Hall (36 Avoca St).

New bulletins will be available at the meeting, come and get a copy.

Please come along, and enjoy a fun yet informative morning!

See you and your camera there.

Today I had a fun time photographing this family, who are very excitedly awaiting the birth of their first baby. They were really easy going and great to have around…even putting up with our naughty puppy dog wanting to come inside and be a prop!

M and T, I am really excited and looking forward to our newborn shoot. All the best for your new journey that is going to get even more amazing in a few weeks!

Oh these guys do have heads, I promise! Just thought I would share their headless shots with you for now :)

Sunday afternoon, families running through the long grass and giggling none stop. Awesome!

This is a beautiful family that we have seemed to run into a bit over the years, kindy/mutual friends/school. When B asked me to do a shoot of the whole family I was really excited. I love doing big families together, that is what life is all about isn’t it? Families being together and having fun!

“The Originals” is what I ended up calling Mum and Dad or Nanna and Poppy (think that is your other official title?). They were the original two people who started this family off – what a great thing to be proud of!

Little Z was only tiny when I photographed her not quite 1 year ago. Today she is walking, laughing and also showing her Mummy and Daddy just how independent she can be! That first year of a babies life is amazing isn’t it? Absolutely like none other in our lives. They go from being fully reliant on you and just crying to (sometimes) walking, talking, laughing, playing, grasping and experimenting. Phew! what a big year it is!

When R let me know (some months ago) that Z was going to be having a birthday party with the theme of the story “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” I know straight away how much fun doing an album for her was going to be.

“Hi, are you free to do our wedding on October 10th this year?”

“Yes I am, congratulations”

“Good can I book you?”

This is how I met Jamie, it was obvious that his “job” for the wedding was to organise the photography. I had been recommended to them I believe and that was enough for him to go on. It was so funny, we were laughing about this story right up to the wedding. Well, I have to say I am so glad that I got that quick, rushed call back at the beginning of the year. Jamie and Kylie  are one of the sweetest, most connected couples I have photographed to date. Their bridal party was fun and patient, braving what was surprisingly a windy and cool (?) afternoon at the beach.

The ceremony was absolutely beautiful, funny and romantic. When asked “who gives this bride away?” Kylie’s Dad jumped out of his seat with excitement! Then he congratulated his new son-in-law by picking him up and spinning him around. Such fun! Together the parents surprised everyone with a stunning butterfly release during the ceremony. One then came and landed on Kylie and posed for a shot!

Kylie and Jamie, thankyou for being just plain beautiful inside and out. It was an absolute pleasure, and I am looking forward to seeing you both again soon. Jamie, man up and go on the rides whilst on your honeymoon!!

Oh no, it can’t be happening! Just checking through what dates are still currently free, and it seems at this point there are only 4 weekend sessions left before my Christmas delivery cut off.

Don’t wait too long to get your date booked, and guarantee your images are back in time for Christmas. Since I have said that word (you know the one that means good times, food and swimming!) I would like to remind everyone that I do offer gift vouchers if you were interested. Instead of 4-6 individual presents for a family, why not combine them and get one gift that will last a lifetime and beyond!

In closing this post, here is my beautiful M. I had Sunday off (the first in a very, very long time), and she asked for her own session with the puppy. How could I say no? She is so beautiful and that bond she shares with her puppy is a gift.

Happy week everyone.
